Approx Waiting Time for Interview After Consulate Recieves
NVC Package: |
Once NVC forwards package to Embassy, they will sit on it for a month before sending packet 3 out by regular mail. Regular El Salvadorean mail can take almost another month for delivery to your fiance. You have one year from the date packet 3 is delivered before the Embassy begins the termination process on your petition. Pack is supposed to arrive to US fiancé(e) too. |

Packet 4 may never be delivered to fiance and only to petitioner in the States. Petitioner will need to send packet 4 to fiance by Fedex, UPS, or scan the pages and send to fiance by email. |

appointment is needed but it's usually for the next day and once you see the doctor it's very fast, unlike the other doctor's offices. He then sends you to get the x-rays and blood tests at:

Horario: 08:00-12:00 am y 2:00-5:00 pm lunes a viernes
both offices are in the same building, so, it's very convenient.

Applicants are assigned interviews by time groups. Interviews start at 7:30am folowed by interviews every half hour after that. Waiting time from the time you enter the consulate is approx 5 hours.
There are two appointment lines in the waiting area outside the consulate. One is for residency applicants, the other for tourist visas. K-1 applicants should use the Residency line. |

The Visa Information Center number 866-730-2089, is frustrating so be prepared. They can also reschedule your appointment once you have one and can update your Fiance/e's info. It costs approx $7 USD for this call. Es el mismo lugar mencionado arriba
American Citizen Services at the Embassy in El Salvador can also be contacted via Email or fax, but they will be of no help. They will refer you to the Visa Service Center, an outsourced company in Mexico that does not have a clue. Be prepared for misinformation.
