Working Hours: Monday through Friday
Best Contact Method: E-mail. They refer all questions to email as the only method to contact them; they "try to respond within 7 days". Their email address is BuenosAires-IV@state.gov. Make sure to include your case number on the email subject for easy reference.
The only other method of communication is for the USC, if present, to go to the embassy. With a US passport you can enter to ask any question (including about visa issues) at window 15, US Citizen Services. The beneficiary will not be able to enter at any time other than the scheduled interview.

You must send in a photocopy of everything on the checklist BEFORE the interview. This is a new requirement! This includes the passport style pictures and the sealed envelope you receive at the medical exam too!.

To demonstrate residency in a consular district, American Citizen petitioners must be able to show that they have permission to reside in the consular district and that they have been doing so continuously for at least six months before filing the petition. Individuals who are in the country on a temporary status, such as student or tourist, would not be considered to meet the residency standard.
