Police Certificate in China

Do I have to personally be in the police station to issue the police certificate to prove I have no criminal background or record in China while I was living there?

The reason I asked this is that I am currently not in China and I hope my process can speed up once I get back to China with all the documents ready.

Your answer will be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

There are likely commercial services that, for a fee, could obtain a Chinese PCC for you. Try a Google search for some options. Perhaps other members are familiar with any such services and will respond.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Here is what i found in my dealing with this because your not gonna find very detailed info online

1) They WILL tell you that they cannot make it for a non-chinese.

2) you can only use a service if you have received a resident permit in Beijing or Shanghai (they are just not out there, I spent so many hours, days and weeks searching)

3) get ready to spend 3k rmb

Best case scenario you have a friend find an *agent or do it themselves, bypass the police and go straight to the notary, the notary will then go to the police and make the proper documents , translations and stamps,

*agent here does not mean a service, my meaning is an agent who brings foriegners in to work, Even better if you use your old one, I am assuming you worked there, If you did not then it is 1000% impossible to get this without work visa and resident permit.

To admin: I know i may have greyed out the TOS line here but it is 100% correct info and I just obtained my wifes PRC police cert, OP needs to see this or spin wheels for months like I did

Here is what ours looks like, notice the stamps and notary papers, it should be in a book like this, if not it could be a fraud, you know how china likes to take shortcuts for money
