Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

We showed up to the embassy early and they let everyone in 15 minutes before our interview time. They let me in with my husband without even checking my passport.

We both went up to the first window, the woman spoke Russian and took our documents: husband’s passport, birth certificate, military book, our marriage certificate, husband’s Russian police certificate and our proof of relationship printout (about 15 pages long). That’s it. She also checked my passport and gave it back. She asked my husband a few questions about his military book and previous countries of residence over 6 months. We were actually in the Philippines a bit longer than 6 months but she let it go. They weren’t that strict about it.

Everything seemed fine, and my husband had his finger prints taken and then we sat down and waited. The embassy lost power twice during this time, but it didn’t seem to affect anyone’s work flow.

About 30 minutes later, after eve... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Hello!

I had my K1 visa interview on Aug 10, 2023 in Poland.

Our Timeline:
NOA1 - Nov 2, 2021
NOA2 - Feb 11, 2023
Case In Transit - Jun 20, 2023
Appointment Eligibility Letter - Jul 14, 2023
Interview - Aug 10, 2023
VOH - Aug 16, 2023

Interview was scheduled at 9:15. I was there at 9:00: gave my passport and DS-160 to the lady from window #2 outside if the embassy and then was guided to walk into the Embassy building to the windows #1-2 (Spoiler: WRONG! K1s should go to Window #13 just like other Immigrant visas).

At the window #13 you receive a number (when that number pops up you will see to which window you will need to go for your interview later) and present all of your documents. The officer took the following documents: my passport, 2 photographs, birth certificate + copy + English translation, police certificate + English translation, I-134, my fiance's renewed letter of inten... read complete review

Review Topic: Waiver/Admin Review

My fiance's interview went well, she said. But we got put into AP - Administrative Processing. It has been there for 8 months now. We have had no updates and only an automated response from the embassy on it. So we talked to many people and a few lawyers and have filed a WOM - Writ of Mandamus lawsuit to get our application out of there.

During the interview, standard questions were asked, the consul spoke in Russian. I received my passport and visa the next business day.
