Clau´s interview was scheduled at 7:30am, but we got there at 7:00am. When we arrived, there was this huge line of people. If you are there for a K1 or K2 visa, walk towards the embassy and look for the sign that says line 3. We could not see the sign with the line number because line 4 was so long, so just walk towards the embassy and you will see line 3 has only a small number of people waiting.

Security took our cell phones while we were in the embassy, but no problem getting it back when we were finished. We were handed this laminated card with the documents they wanted and in the order they wanted it. They also wanted and kept the confirmation page from the on-line system when you scheduled the interview. As I said in the beginning of this post, the DS230 was not mentioned on the card, but I think you should bring it anyway, since a prior poster said he was asked for it as recently as 3/19/12. For her birth certificate, the card never said anything about turning o... read complete review

My fiance went to her interview and it turned out to become a very short interview with a few very general, polite questions being ask, such as: when do you plan to get married, etc.

It seems that if you have all of your paperwork completed thoroughly, the rest will just be formalities... We dotted all the i's and crossed all the t's in preparing the docs., that's all! It was long and pains-taking, but in the end it all worked out! let me know if you should have any specific quest.

BTW, I could not go to the interview, and it seems that it's not a requirement whatsoever!

Many thanks to a few of you who guided us throughout this arduous journey! Thanks visajourny!

Interview day: Previous to the interview we were really nervous, probably more than necessary
haha, so the night before didn't sleep good at all, our appointment was at 7:00 am so we arrived early to the embassy at 5:45am and immediately got in line 3, we waited there until 6:30 when a lady came out, she put a green sticker on both of us, we then passed trough the security and went into the facilities, we recieved a paper with the order of the documents they needed to see and the lady told us to go to line 29, so before going to that line we took our time to order our documents and leave just what they ask for...

(This is something we think is important not only for you but also for everybody, just take your time to put everything in order and just follow the instructions of that paper, it makes everything faster and smoother, we saw that all the people in front of us and in other lines didn't follow the instructions and it took way longer than it took fo... read complete review

The interview process was rather fast and easy. As long as you have all your documentation in order, there should be no problem. There were only a couple of questions that threw my Fiancee off guard. She was asked how I received my citizenship, I never explained that part to her. They also asked her a couple of questions about my tax return forms. She had no real answer for either question, however her reaction was honest and controlled. It seems to me that the interviewer is more concerned with reaction rather than the answers.

I bought our tickets a month ago. Our interview was on Friday, and I bought the tickets for the Saturday of the following week. I was lucky enough to receive the visa the day before, but I would recommend to wait until you have the visa before buying tickets just in case there is a delay. Good luck to everyone working their way through this process, and any questions would be welcomed.
