They were very nice. Interview only took about five minutes, took my right and left index fingerprints asked how my husband and I met and that was it! Picked up the visa the next day, easiest part of the process

My review was posted a long time ago in a thread in the Foreign Consulate section. The rules and procedures have since changed. Please feel free to search the Consulate section for reviews of the Montreal Consulate in Canada.

Good luck, you guys!

Thanks to VJ members who hadgone through Montreal before us we were told that no matter what time your appt states.... be there by about 7:30am. You'll be one of the first in line.

When getting on the elevator.... go straight to the back, left side as you're facing in. This is because when the elevator stops, you will exit the "back" and turn left to go to the windows.

As far as medicals go.... we were told that when Adam went for his medical to get a duplicate from the doctor. This came in handy since when we had our AOS interview, the officer was very pleased it was there. She said so many times the medical that was previously submitted hasn't caught up wth the rest of the file and she has to RFE lots of people until they get another one done.

Second review after more consul contact:

Let me add that they told us repeatedly to "send in the passport" and we will issue the visa. We called them back to say "Are you sure??" because my fi only had 5 months and 3 weeks left on his current passport (one wek short of the 6 month minimum required)

Their response "Don't send us the passport"

Had to get a renewed one. Of course this is our mistake, not theirs for telling us to send it in repeatedly.

Final rant - ORDERED A SECURITY CHECK THAT WAS FOUND TO BE ERRONEOUS ... A 9 MONTH CHECK AT THAT ... SOME SERVICE
