samir had an appointment at 11 am and we had all of our documents ready. Samir was interviewed by two algerian women and an american man. They asked him typical questions like what was my birthday and my address and what i did for a living.they said they were very surprised at his english skills and that he spoke american english so well. They said he had to go get a stamp on his passport that he was missing but took his fingerprints and kept all the documents. Samir asked if everything was ok and they said yes. the next day Samir fixed his passport and then the day after returned to Algiers to leave it at the embassy. they said they would call when the passport was ready to be picked up. they sent me an email saying it would be at the most 15 days. Samir said they were very nice to him and very helpful. They have always answered my emails very promptly and have been friendly to me whenever i have had to call there.

We knew our petition was at the embassy. I emailed them after it had been there about a week to see when the packet 3 would be sent. Every email I sent them was answered within one day. They were very nice and informative. Anyway, they said Pkt 3 had been sent. Another week went by, no packet, so hachemi called them and they told him he could come by and pick it up. They scheduled a time for him to come. He did his medical exam and had to wait one week for the results. He went back to Algiers on a Monday to pick up the results of the medical. He then called the embassy for an appointment and was given the interview appt. for the following Sunday at 3pm. That Sunday he showed up at the embassy and the guard said his appointment was for 9:30 am. Hachemi said no, it was for 3pm. The guard called the consular and they said to let him enter, his appt. was at 3pm. Hachemi entered and the only people there was a married couple waiting to be interviewed. They called Hachemi up to a window and ... read complete review

Farouk's "interview" was very fast. He was very prepared for any possible questions, tons of photos and proof of our meeting and 3 year relationship, only to have them ask nothing from him. His fingerprints were taken, documents verified, all unnecessary documents and papers returned to him, including duplicate photos from my original I-129 file. They kept his passport and gave him a number to call after 10 days to get his passport back, but he was not told if we were approved or denied the visa. I called to ask further and was told it is in administrative processing for the next few days. All in all, he was treated well, and I will say they are fabulous people and I love them so much if he has a BIG YES.

Amed called the consulate to find out if they had received his file from the NVC. They were very nice over the phone, told him they had the file, and he would get a letter in a couple of days. Sure enough, 2 days later he had his letter. He then called back when all of the paperwork was in hand (about a week later) and they scheduled him an appointment for 5 days later! He went to the embassy for his 8:00 a.m. appointment. He had to wait a while, and then they called him up and took his paperwork. They called him back up to correct a typo on his DS-156. Then they made him sign the form in front of them, write his name in arabic, and raise his hand and attest to the accuracy of the documents. The CO reviewed all of the materials he handed her, including photos, phone card printouts, a letter from my mom, the engagement ring receipt, a scrapbook I made him, etc. She then took his fingerprints, made him pay the visa fee, and took his passport. She gave him the address of the pla... read complete review
