Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Husband had interview at 9:00 am on the 23 of November and arrived at the embassy at 8:00 am. He approached one of the securities that stay in front and asked when to check in, and the security told him to come back at 8:45.He then said that he went back to the embassy at 8:45 and everyone that had a 9:00 appointment was called by name and my husband said that they called him last. After checking for electronics and all that, he then I had to sit to wait until called upon. A lady called his name at window five and asked him if he had any records of communication between us and my husband gave her all our emails, skype calls and chats, passport stamps that I visited him and four albums of pictures together. After that he said that they took his fingerprints, and told him to come at 1:00 pm for the interview as he said there were many people and they were backed up. At 1 he said that he went back and was called again at window five but by a different lady that was not Albanian, you know ... read complete review

Arrived at 8AM Thursday, went through security and waited inside for an hour until my name was called. Turned papers in at window 1 and they told me to wait outside. After half an hour they called me back in, took my finger prints, and told me to wait inside. After about half hour they called me up to window four and as she(American in her 40's) went through my papers she asked me;
Tell me when you met your wife and where?
Can you describe the first night you met?
How long we knew eachother?
Do you have any photos?(which I didn't give at window 1) She looked for less than one minute at pictures with no comments.
Asked about police clearance papers.
What does your wife do for work?
What is her surname and where does she live?
The whole interview was less than 5 minutes with me standing at the window and her flipping through the papers.
We included a copy of the USC 09 taxes, but she requested the official transcripts to be f... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

My fiance hasn't gone through the interview process yet. So my review may change. But my opinion of the consulate has improved since my initial contact a few months ago. The last time I was in Albania trying to talk to a person in the Consulate was very difficult. I did get a phone number, but every time I tried to call there was no answer and the voice mail was full. I hesitated sending an email because the first time I did that their response took more than 10 days (their promised turn-around time).

But because I was getting nowhere with the phone I emailed my question. And to my surprise I got an answer the next day (they do send an automated message saying they would respond in 10 days).

All later attempts at email communication were handled quickly (within 10 days) and always very helpful. Suggestion: Do not ask vague questions, have very specific information in mind that they can give complete answers to. If there would be follow up question... read complete review

Review Topic: K3 Visa

My wife went into the waiting room in the Tirana Embassy from 9 am to 11am. She provided the embassy with her documents and paid the fee at that time. They asked her to leave for an hour and said they would call her back. They called her back at 1 and after 10 minutes her named was called by the consular officer. She began the interview by swearing in. She then fingerprinted her. And here were the questions she asked in order:

Does your Husband speak Albanian?
In which Language do you communicate?
When was the last time your husband was in Albania?
How long have you known him?
How did you start to communicate with him?
Who introduced you with him, and when, and how?
Does your husband work and where?
Does your husband have a college?
Wasnt it early to marry him? (she asked it humorously - while looking at our pictures and IM conversations)
And how do you know you were compatible with him?
Can you descri... read complete review
