My (former) girlfriend came to America on a B-1 visitors visa. While she was here, I not only proposed to her, I married her as well. I am currently staring blankly at an I-485 form, and do not know what option to check off in part 2 (Application type). Please help me!

You just got Married a few weeks ago right? You will have to file the I 130 form first. If you click on the blue "Guides" tab at the top, there will be lots of information there for you to read. I'm still fairly new and getting to know about this process myself. Congrats on your Marriage! :)

You do not need to file form I-130 first.... all the forms are file together... follow this guide here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...page=i130guide2

It will help you to know what to do when... to answer your question you need to select a.

If you have any other question just ask... I did AOS from a visitors visa too...
