I-751 Reminder sent to wrong address

Hi all - I posted this as a follow up to an old thread but throwing it here too as curious as to advice/suggestions.

My husband and I moved apartments in October last year. Sent the Sponsor Job of Address form and received a letter in mail confirming change. Submitted AR-11 and received an e-mail that request was received but never received a letter in the mail confirming change. Today we received our I-751 reminder but it was sent to our old address / old unit # (under husband's name as he is the applicant). I called USCIS thinking it could just be confirmed over the phone but they said they don't have access and we need to make an appointment to see why USCIS does not have our address updated under my husband.

Is there another way to do this, or is making an appointment truly the only way?

I'm not at all concerned about not receiving mail from USCIS, because we live at the exact same address, it is just our apartment number changed as we moved upstairs. However, I do not want an erroneous address to cause issues with our lifting of conditions filing or cause any delays if USCIS had a technical error with the AR-11. I do see there is an appointment slot open next week, so should we just grab it and be safe rather than sorry? I do see online their is an e-Request you can send to report typographic errors, could I do that instead or do we just suck it up and take the day off to go to field office?

There is no physical letter sent out if you submitted the AR-11 online.

L1 customer service persons who answer the phone aren't able to see any personal details surrounding your case.  Call back and ask to be transferred to an L2 immigration officer....they would be able to confirm the current address in their system.

Corrected. We submitted the AR-11 online and received e-mail confirmation they received that. Someone previously told me they received a letter confirmation as well, so it sounds like in some cases they do?

I called back again this morning and was told the same thing, to make an Infopass apointment. How do I get transferred to an L2 immigration officer?

Ask the person answering the phone to transfer you.

Sometimes they may try to deny your transfer (some phone reps get insulted/take it personally)....just keep asking until they do.

Best of luck getting it straightened out.  Hopefully you can avoid having to do an infopass.

Hi all, just an update. Talked to a L2 (Thx going Through). They were really annoyed that L1 told me to schedule an InfoPass. They said that our address would not be updated from our previous case, even if we filed the AR-11. They said we do not have to make an InfoPass appointment and to just file the I-751 with our new address, and then things will be updated and future correspondence will go from there. They said however that they will reference and check to ensure we filed AR-11 in the time required and that we followed the rules there.

Kind of confusing! At any rate, just an update on what I heard back if anyone deals with this in the future.

Not sure why they have us file they AR-11 if they aren't going to actually update it and use that address going forward?

Does this answer seem weird? Should I call and try to chat with another L2? This one was super grumpy at me, and I didn't want to annoy her by asking her to verify address / she did not offer. She just kept saying to file my I-751 and that's when it will update the address. But doesn't that seems odd?

Guess they figure on the off chance a person moves between receiving the i-751 reminder and submitting the actual filing.

At least you got it straightened out.
