Health insurance & spouse on Medicaid - Help!

Hi everyone!

 

I just arrived to the U.S a week ago on a CR-1 visa. I'm super happy but a bit confused about the whole health insurance thing. My husbands health insurance is similar to Medicaid (it's called the healthy Michigan plan)- they have the same requirements as Medicaid. Of course as a new LPR I don't qualify for that. So, do I get my own insurance separately to him, privately? Does it matter that we'll both be on individual plans? We're so confused about how to do this, and where is reliable to look. If anyone could offer advice that'd be amazing.

I quickly googled this and am not sure what it is, suggests it is not Medicaid as such. I assume you would otherwise qualify and would give them a ring, there are s=certainly some States where new residents can get Medicaid from day 1, Michigan I do not know.
