NEW ENTRY DATES FOR DV2019 - you need to re-enter

Due to a technical glitch, they have to discard all the old entries and start again next week. Not sure why this is not more widely publicized yet but this is the official US embassy site in Ecuador so it’s genuine. The entry site has been down for about a week, presumably while they have sorted this out. They will be emailing everyone who entered already to tell them to do so again.

So... a second chance also for all those who submitted duplicates, entered details wrong etc.

If so, why is it only in the Ecuador embassy so far? I guess I'm gonna wait for that e-mail or until they update the dates on the main lottery website

It’s weekend, it’s a government department, it’s not immediately actionable, so it’s surprising that someone in Ecuador took the time to publish it anyway. I’m assuming it will be published properly on Monday.

And now on the actual eDV page itself, as expected updated on Monday morning:

“Due to a technical issue, the DV-2019 entry period that began on October 3 has been closed. Entries submitted during October 3-10 are not valid and have been excluded from the system; they will not count as a duplicate entry. The technical issue has been resolved and a new full entry period will begin at noon, U.S. Eastern Daylight Time on Wednesday October 18, 2017 and will run until noon Eastern Standard Time on Wednesday November 22, 2017. Only entries submitted during this period will be accepted and considered for selection in the lottery. Please throw away any confirmation number or other documentation that you have if you submitted an entry during Oct. 3-10.”
