Hi all I have a question it might be dumb, but I came to the US on a B2 with a 5 month return ticket cause my best friend were planing on visiting a couple of states, anyway something came up a week before I left and I was told I may need to return home early if needed,  so my friend and I had to change our plans from 5 months to 2 months, I never changed the ticket because I thought I would leave it just in case it didn't turn into a huge issue and I could remain in the US for 5 months as planned, so when I arrived at CBP I told the officer I was planning on 8 weeks and after a few more questions he said I needed to go to a secondary, which I did, the officer there questioned me as to why I said 8 weeks and not the full 5 months so I explained the story, I told him I could afford to stay the full 5 months if I wanted and offered to show him my banking details which he said was not necessary, he went through my phone asked me about my friend and called her to verify the details, he asked about a boyfriend I said yes and about family and I answered and he didn't say anything else expect type up some stuff. He never checked my luggage or asked for my bank accounts to check my bank balance all he said I believe you when I said I can show you. After the phone call to my friend he then typed some more stuff and then stamped my passport and gave me 6 months, well now my question is since I don't need to return home as urgently as I though I might have to, can I remain for the full 5 months as originally planned until I am due to leave since I never changed my flight and my passport is stamped for 6 months? Sorry for the long-winded explination. Thank you

Thank you, sorry I am a bit slow so I can stay the full 5 months without a problem since I was admitted?

You can, but i would check your online i-94 as sometimes people are stamped the full 6 months with a return date but electronically it's different.
