Ergo, that officer is in the wrong job. His or her job is to serve and protect, not to be nervous or act upon it.

This is related to the topic at hand how? We all feel nervous and do exactly what we are told to do if pulled over.

Here is what I know: The officer who pulls you or me over is just as nervous as you or I am. Hence the inherent need to not make him/her any more nervous.

That's just the way it is.

His or her primary job is to enforce law - which by default is "protecting and serving" the billions and billions of people who are not included in the individuals in front of him or her breaking it or who have broken it.

It is a mistake to believe that if you are pulled over for infraction that you are included in the "protect and serve" group. That group is "everyone else but you at that moment".

That's just the way it is.

Reyes was referring to the death over the weekend of Amber Monroe, a 20-year-old black trans woman who was fatally shot in what police have deemed a homicide.

A homicide isn't mitigated by place or setting. The article seems not to clarify that...

Nothing about that article states that the homicide was or should be treated differently from any other homicide.

The comment about "no sympathy" IS mitigated by the conscious choice to deliberately engage in high-risk behavior in an unsafe and high-risk area.
