Do you both have wills that name each other? Do you own a car, and, if so, are you both on the title or registration? Do you have car insurance with both of your names on it? Do you have home owner's or renter's insurance with both of your names? Do you have health insurance together?

Those are some things you can get together before December!

The tax will help. Have you been on his car insurance since you got married / got your DL? Also - they like "supporting evidence" so lots of pictures of you as a couple, either traveling or with other friends or family. We realized that we were always taking photos of each other on vacation, rather than together so we had to make a dedicated effort to take couples selfies. Fortunately we had our second wedding (two weddings in two countries) overseas after I had my greencard issued so we were able to use all those photos, but I'm not sure it will help you there.
