My fiance and I will be coming to the US from Turkey this July via JFK or O'Hare. What should we expect during the port of entry, will it be easier if I (the US Citizen/Petitioner) am with him? How long will the interview take? I heard sometimes they get suspicious if there are long layovers, but w are going to Minneapolis so we will have to catch another flight. I don't want to have a layover that is too short so that we miss our connecting flight, I would rather have a longer one so I don't have to worry. Are there any POE's to avoid?

221g denial for missing police clearence

16th July 2013 - Interview (approved)

29th August 2013 - 2 year green card arrived

When my now husband flew in, his layover was 8 hours in Miami because I didn't want him to miss his flight. The options were a two hour layover or eight (I took what I could get). The interview was really easy and they didn't mention the layover at all. But he needed three hours for the interview and finding his gate because it was his first time flying and he was alone.

K-1 from Haiti - NOA1: 5/27/2014; NOA2: 7/8 USCIS never updated to say that it was sent to the NVC (just in case you're as concerned about your status not updating as I was about mine)
NVC Case Number Received: 7/31; Left NVC: 8/1 - tracked via DHL website; CEAC Status - Ready: 8/7; Packet 3 Received: 9/5 - Beneficiary received packet / Medical Completed: 9/19;
DS-160 Submitted: 9/22 - (CEAC date updated); Packet 3 Submitted: 9/26; Packet 4 Received: 10/24; Interview Date: 11/6 @ 7 am Interview Result: Approved!
CEAC Status Issued: 11/10; USTraveldocs.com finally acknowledged Fiance's passport actually in their system: 11/20; Passport Received: 11/21;
