Her interview was horrible. For mine the sentence I had to read was "which States has the most people?" Mine was literally 10 minutes with the only bump being I listed my traffic tickets wrong.

I've had my GC since 1991 and have lived here majority of my life so maybe that's why mine was different but I'm shocked to hear how bad hers was. It really sucks to make the choice to come here legally, work hard, pay taxes, and do the right thing by going through the process to become an American then get treated like ####### by some grouch.

Hope everything gets resolved.

If they asked me to read that sentence I would tell them it's grammatically incorrect lol.

I'm just joking, I am sure it is just a typo. :)

The point made about the power of unelected officials being left to made life changing decisions to people's lives with no oversight, and in the case I read recently, no right to know why or to challenge it, is breathtaking - from the outside.

..and yet in my opinion unlikely to change, as those already Citizens in the country have little or no motivation in forming a special interest in fixing any issues, and those who leave it behind in the rear view mirror, no wish to dig it up in case of themselves getting problems...

Just picking up on one of the questions repeatedly asked about your wife's parents being married, and her saying they were passed away, seems again to be following a slightly different 'name/surname' angle.

I'm happy that this is now complete, though it's left a nasty emotional taste, but I'm certainly wondering what the officer was triggered by to ask in this way. If I was concerned, and thought there was something in the background report, then just for interest, I'd be looking at the genealogy - as births marriages and deaths in some countries are a confused and mis-handled process - perhaps something was difficult to find by the people doing that check - maybe worth following up in your own time if you feel like it.. ?
