Hi there,

I really do need help here!!!!! My last name on Certificate of Naturalization and US Passport is different from my last name on Certificate of Marriage in Thailand. After we filed we got a notice of additional processing requirement.

Anyway I changed my last name due to my past marriage. After divorce my ex husband told me I could keep his last name, so I didn't change it back. In Thailand I desired to keep my family name. If not I have to give up my Thai citizenship.

Now I think I should go back to US to change my last name back to my family name. Does anybody know if I can change my last name in all my documents in US from Thailand? I'm sorry if my story is kind of confusing. I'm so stressed out that I can't even think strange. Thank you so much guys.

Do you have the documentation that details the name change for when you were married the first time? If so, submit that.

I would agree that this is very confusing.

I changed my name after marriage and didn't have to give up my citizenship. My husband asked me to get a new Thai passport with my new last name in an effort to make things easier later.

I am now a U S citizen but my name on the marriage certificate was my maiden name which caused no problems nor additional processing. Are you sure this is the source of the problem?

I think I'll show them the related document and hopefully they'll accept it. There are quite a few issues in our case, so sometime I can't really think straight. Thank you so much for all your support. You guys have been amazing!!!!
