In the following DS-260 question:

Do you have documentation to establish that you have received vaccinations in accordance with U.S. law?

I have said no, and said the following:

<NAME> HAS IMMUNIZATION/VACCINATION RECORDS FROM <COUNTRY> DATING FROM BIRTH. THIS IS COVERED IN TWO SEPARATE OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS. THE TWO DOCUMENTS SHOW IMMUNIZATIONS/VACCINATIONS FOR DIPHTHERIA, WHOOPING COUGH, TETANUS, POLIOMYELITIS, SMALL POX, BCG. ONE DOCUMENT IS FROM THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT. THE OTHER DOCUMENT FOR SMALL POX IS AN INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATE OF VACCINATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION.

AFTER REVIEW OF THE U.S. LAW, WE BELIEVE THAT THESE IMMUNIZATIONS AND VACCINATION RECORDS ARE IN ACCORDANCE WITH U.S. LAW SINCE OTHER IMMUNIZATION ARE EITHER AGE OR DATE DEPENDENT. THESE WILL BE SENT TO THE NVC WITH THE ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS. PLEASE ADVISE IF ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IS NECESSARY.

Is this correct? Shall I move ahead and obtain an appointment with a doctor? Where do I find these doctors?

If you have proof of the immunizations why are you answering No? You answer No, only if you do not have proof and the vaccinations will be done between now and the interview (aka at the medical or you get them done and have the proof at the medical.)

Also if you check the VJ embassy page all the doctors are available there.

You cannot book a medical in Canada until you have the interview letter.

Thanks for the information. It is not that she does not have proof of possible vaccination/immunization, I just do not know if these are sufficient and meet the current US requirements which includes Hep A and B as well as other items.

Would it be appropriate in this case to answer no and then mention her vaccination records will be reviewed by a panel physician prior to the interview? We plan on having her go to a medical appointment prior to the interview.

Yes they will be reviewed. Hep A and B are not needed. Just MMR, Tdap, and chicken pox (which is a verbal confirmation if she's had it.) Influenza is needed between Oct and March I think...

If they were done in Canada they are fine. She can also get a test from her normal doctor that tests her immunity to mumps, measles, rubella, etc... If she hasn't gotten a TD or Tdap vaccine in the last 5-10 years, go to the health clinic and do it now.

Ok, the records are actually from South Africa. It sounds like whether I say 'yes' or 'no', the panel physician will review the immunization records. Correct? If I say no and I will say the following:

AFTER REVIEW OF THE U.S. LAW, WE BELIEVE THAT THESE IMMUNIZATIONS AND VACCINATION RECORDS ARE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS SINCE OTHER IMMUNIZATIONS ARE EITHER AGE OR DATE DEPENDENT. THESE WILL BE SENT TO THE NVC WITH THE ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS.

FURTHERMORE, THESE IMMUNIZATION AND VACCINATION RECORDS WILL BE REVIEWED BY A PANEL PHYSICIAN PRIOR TO THE CONSULAR INTERVIEW TO INSURE U.S. REQUIREMENTS ARE SATISFIED.

What are your thoughts?

You're over stating it.

If you don't feel that the vaccinations are enough say:

No

Will receive any needed vaccinations at the medical.

that's all you need to put.
