A- number?

Hi,

Where could you find an A- number for K-3 visa holder? It seems like that A- number won't be issued until you get I-551 or green card. Is it true?

If it is true, why form I-864 is asking for A- number?

The A- number will be on your NOA2 form, apruval of I-130 or I-129F of K3 or K1 process.

Should I use this number on form I-864 part 2 for my wife?

Yes that is the number you are looking for, the number above her name under beneficiary.

I was looking at somewhere else and found that Alien Registration Number doesn't get issued until your permanent residency gets approved. So then what A number on NOA2 is for?

Any explaination......? is this the number USCIS will use for your green card or some other number?

That A# on the NOA2 is the number used On form I-864(Affidavit of support), I-485 (Adjustment of Status), I-765 (EAD). I-131 (AP) for K1. That number on the NOA2 IS THE Alien Registration Number. Another place to locate the number is in the passport on the visa stamp placed in the passport usually formated A######### If you compare them you should see that that number matches the one on the NOA2.

You should only be assigned one A# and any document you receive from immigration should have that number if it lists an A# and you use that number anytime an A# is requested.
