My Atty mailed my N-400 last evening. If I have the case number can I go for a walk in Biometrics, before I get the official notice? From your experience, once USCIS receives the application, what are the approximate time lines for these events?

Thank you. Once we have the NOA with Case Number, can we try doing a walk in Biometrics? Does NOA tell us if the Biometrics is required? I am asking since it is only last month, I did Biometrics in Sept for my I-90 GC Replacement Card.

No - a biometrics can be done only when you have a biometrics notice in hand. You can try to go early prior to your scheduled appointment but only with the letter in hand...

Hi Concorduser,

Are you applying after 3 years of marriage based GC or 5 years residency?

Neither. I have been a LPR for last 30 years and finally decided it is time to apply for USC.

That would be 5 (minimum) years of residency

Congratulations to you OKflyboy and Good Luck to you Concorduser!

Concorduser - any reason why you delayed applying for USC for this long?

Nope, you need to wait for the fingerprint notice. The fingerprinting is typically scheduled within a month after you send in your N-400 application. Best of luck!
