I am coming here to say that my interview was this morning at Rio de Janeiro embassy, and my visa was approved. Hopefully I will be going back home before thanksgiving.

Helps for moral support. Depends when was last she was there. Her being there just for interview doesn't really mean alot. Don;t know if your embassy allows petitioner in but it's up to ya'll.
Sometimes when they are there and you tell the CO "I was hoping to be able to fly back with my spouse". They have been known to get your visa faster. I have known a few got in back in a few days instead of the standard 2 weeks. So speak up if she comes. Also if she can't go in take her passport with you when turning over your passport hand over both they will then know she is outside.

My interview is next Wed, and my wife is really anxious about it. She wants to travel all the way to brazil to attend the interview with me. Do you guys think it might help our case, or it wouldn't make any difference?

As long as the affidavit has the income figures entered for all years, it is only required to take the 2016 tax return (filed in 2017) as supporting documentation for the affidavit of support.  However, you did not mention a pay stub or employer letter as evidence of current income.  That is also needed.

I just came to tell you that after 4 months and 16 days I finally have my interview scheduled. I just would like to thank you all for the support during all that time, that was a long stressful ride.
