So today i checked the visa status and FINALLY it says my case is ready for an interview!!! YAY!!!

BUUUUUUUT.... I haven't received the email giving me instructions and stuff.

I tried emailing them but it says they will respond in 2-3 days.

Wondering if i'm freaking out for nothing or should i just wait to receive it?

Does it sometimes take a few hours or a day or two to receive the email???

Thanks in advance!!

I didn't track mine like that so I don't know how much if any time there was between "ready" and the email, but I can't imagine that it would be long.

Where exactly are you in the process? Have you done anything that's on the embassy checklist (some people get a head start on medicals etc)?

Marriage/ AOS Timeline:

23 Dec 2015: Legal marriage

23 Jan 2016: Wedding!

23 Jan 2016: "Blizzard of the Century", wedding canceled/rescheduled (thank goodness we were legally married first or we'd have had a big problem!) :sleepy:

24 Jan 2016: Small "civil ceremony" with friends and family who were snowed in with us. December was a bit of a secret and people had traveled internationally and knew we *had* to get married that weekend, and our December legal marriage was nothing but signing a piece of paper at our priest's kitchen table, without any sort of vows etc so this was actually a very special (if not legally significant) day. (L)

16 Apr 2016: Filed for AOS and EAD/AP (We delayed a bit-- no big rush, enjoying the USCIS break)

23 Apr 2016: Wedding! Finally! :luv:

27 Apr 2016: Electronic NOA1 for all 3 :dancing:
29 Apr 2016: NOA1 Hardcopy for all 3
29 Jul 2016: Online service request for late EAD (Day 104)
29 Jul 2016: EAD/AP Approved ~3 hours after online service request
04 Aug 2016: RFE for Green Card (requested medicals/ vaccination record. They already have it). :ranting:
05 Aug 2016: EAD/AP Combo Card arrived! (Day 111)
08 Aug 2016: Congressional constituent request to get guidance on the RFE. Hoping they see they have the form and approve!

K-1 Visa Timeline:

PLEASE NOTE. This timeline was during the period of time when TSC was working on I-129fs and had a huge backlog. The average processing time was 210+ days. This is in no way predictive of your own timeline if you filed during or after April 2015, unless CSC develops a backlog. A backlog is anything above the 5-month goal time listed on USCIS's site

14 Feb 2015: Mailed I-129f to Dallas Lockbox. (L) (Most expensive Valentine's card I've ever sent!)

17 Feb 2015: NOA1 "Received Date"
19 Feb 2015: NOA1 Notice Date
08 Aug 2015: NOA2 email! :luv: (173 days from NOA1)

17 Aug 2015: Sent to NVC

?? Aug 2015: Arrived at NVC

25 Aug 2015: NVC Case # Assigned

31 Aug 2015: Left NVC for Consulate in San Jose

09 Sep 2015: Consulate received :dancing: (32 days from NOA2)

11 Sep 2015: Packet 3 emailed from embassy to me, the petitioner (34 days from NOA2).

18 Sep 2015: Medicals complete

21 Sep 2015: Packet 3 complete, my boss puts a temporary moratorium on all time off due to work emergency :clock:

02 Oct 2015: Work emergency clears up, interview scheduled (soonest available was 5 business days away--Columbus Day was in there)

13 Oct 2015: Interview

13 Oct 2015: VISA APPROVED  (236 days from NOA1)

19 Oct 2015: Visa-in-hand

24 Oct 2015: POE !

15 Dec 2015: Fiance's mother's B-2 visa interview: APPROVED! So happy she will be at the wedding!

We have like our papers ready but the medical not yet we were waiting for it to get to the embassy to make the appointment but my fiancé will be calling tomorrow to make the appt for next week or for the following week since he has to go get his blood and X-rays. I've seen the list on the consulate info but just wanna make sure they don't ask us for anything extra. Maybe i'm freaking out for no reason.

I'm guessing it's different from embassy to embassy, I received instructions via email 1 week after the website said "Ready"

Did you make the interview appt before or after receiving instructions?

I think that technically you can set up the interview date with your CEAC number before you get the embassy email, if you want. But like you, I wanted to get the official word before doing that, in case some requirements had changed or something and plus, there is really no real need to play that game in Costa Rica-- it's not a very busy embassy, like some. We got ours with 5 business days' notice, and I'd been watching the site for a few weeks and usually you could get one in two or three days. the only reason for the lag time you see in my timeline is that I wanted to attend the interview and we'd had a bit of a crisis at work and no one was going anywhere until it was cleared up.

I'm guessing you'll get the email soon. I really wish I could remember-- I know we were only 2 days between consulate received (is that "ready?") and the email. The medicals take 2 days, too. They have to go one day and then go back for the results.

I waited until after, just to make sure they had processed my application fully.

That helps! Thank you!

I'm just a bit nervous with everything so just trying to have everything perfect!

I'm going to wait a few days to receive it. At least i know it is at the embassy i was getting worried my package got lost (i've heard that happens) For now i'll be content it isn't lost lol. Yup that is why i'm not stressing much. Yesterday it said the next available appt was this thursday so they will have appt available for next week definitely!! Yupp same here i would make apt for next week but have some stuff at work to clear up before i head out to be at the appt with him! Thanks so much! Helps a lot also knowing we dealt with the same embassy!

At point did everyone provide your fiance's email for the receipt of packet 3 from the consulate? I'm at the NOA 1 stage and even though I've registered on the USCIS website and provided my own email and cell phone number, I have yet to be prompted at any stage to provide my fiance's email. At NVC stage do they tell you to provide your fiance's email address?
