Hello, my name is Nora. My fiancée and I are waiting on his appointment letter from the US embassy in Madrid, Spain. He sent it out on the 3rd of July, but we are still waiting for it. Can someone please give us an idea of how long this will take? Or if we should call some where to find out what is going on.

Hi Nora. Have your fiancé sent the packet 3 with all the documentation to the embassy? Have you tried to email the embassy? In my case, it took less than a week to receive the appointment letter. However, it took 15 days to receive the visa after the interview although it was supposed to arrive in 4-5 days: there was a delay because of the 4th of July and because they are too many visa applications (students, etc) during July and August. Your fiancé should email the embassy asap asking if they have received the packet and if he needs to provide more documents, they have been always helpful and nice to me. They always answered me after one or two days. Good luck!

Thank you so much monkey and chicken. We sent them an email turns out he already had an appointment set but they must've sent out the letter to the wrong address. By the time we found out the date the interview was the next day without giving us any time for anything. So we had to reschedule and now he is set to go in on August 8th @12 noon. He just had his medical done today so we are optimistic about things as of now :)... Just another quick question, how long does it take to get the passport back with the visa? Oh yeah and is it ok to only buy a one-way ticket this time? Or does it still have to be round-trip?
