I zoomed in on the copy of the check. It shows a hand written number on the front, it starts with esc. When I type it in in online status, it brings up an N400 with a Sept. 21st priority date, but I applied on Oct 9th. There's another computer generated number that starts with esc also on the back of the check, and it pulls another N400 with a priority date of November 8th, but again, they received my application on Oct 9th. Does anybody know which number is correct, the hand written on the front, or the computer generated one on the back? Thanks!

Never mind. Per the Ombudsman, the receipt number is the one located on the back of the check, but I'm just wondering if my pd is going to be Nov 8th. That means they're not honoring the received in mailroom date which is Oct 9th.

You're right, the number is the one in the front, I just misread one of the numbers. I called USCIS since I didn't receive my NOA from VSC. They received my application on October 9th. I was transferred to an IO I think who pulled it up, gave me the receipt number, and I was told they completed data entry and sent a receipt on Dec 13th, and I'm in line for fingerprinting, but it's not scheduled yet.

I tried to pull it up in online status, but it says the receipt number doesn’t exist, or it's not available at this time through the automated system. I hope he was telling the truth, because if they sent a receipt on the 13th, I would have received it on the 15th, or the 17th max.

He was telling the truth lol. I just received my NOA1 in the mail today. The receipt number doesn't come up in online status yet. It's says priority date October 15th. They received it October 9th, few days out of sync, no biggie.
