Hey guys,

I requested an expedite for my ead as it's way overdue now thanks to the help I received from this forum on this matter. I requested the expedite based on severe financial loss due to a pending job offer - USCIS requested me to fax them the documents which I did as soon as I received their notice. It seems like people if they get approve do within a day or two or even same day after sending the requested documentation can it take longer? Thanks

Yes, it can take a little longer. Took a week for me. Took almost two weeks for me.

ROC (Eligeble for ROC 07/16/2016) - Package send out late as we were too busy to compile it.
ROC Approved in 484 days. 10yr GC in hand in 489 days.
[08/01/2016]: Day 00 - Full package (8.5 lbs) sent to California Processing center using USPS Flat Rate Box (late at night).
[08/04/2016]: Day 04 - Package delivered.
[08/08/2016]: Day 08 - Check cashed.
[08/09/2016]: Day 09 - NOA and 1 year extension letter arrived., dated 08/04/2016
[09/16/2016]: Day 47 - Received Biometrics Appointment for 09/28/2016

Thank you for responding. I hope mine does not take that long but things have been moving pretty slowly so far. Did you call customer service during the 2 weeks you waited? How did they notify you?

I did call a couple of times to get status. They didn't really say much - just to wait. I had two cases expedited, I-765 and I-131, which I think caused a little weirdness. Basically:

I-131 Expedite was setup for electronic notifications

I-765 Expedite was not setup for electronic notification

I received a email stating they needed more info for I-131 expedite. I faxed that in right away and included the reference number for the I-765 expedite.

Nothing happened for a while and I received a letter with a request for the I-765 expedite - faxed in the same documents and two days later the EAD and AP was approved.

Received the AP doc a couple of days later and receiving the EAD today as it seems. :)

The dates are in my timeline/signature.

Thank you for your insight. My hopes are doomed now I got an update this morning and got excited but they are sending me an RFE on my I-485 instead...

RFE on I-485 does not mean expedite EAD will fail. You still have a I-485 pending and can therefore get EAD approved.

Keep checking status on your expedite every two days or so (by calling them and talking to a Tier 2 rep.

I hope you are right that would be such a relief! But my experience with RFE is that if there is one for I-485 is stops processing for I-765 and all the other applications filed concurrently. I even thought that that's what I had read on the USCIS website that it holds up processing for I-765 is that a myth?
