I talked to my fiancee today concerning her NBI Clearance that she applied for back in July and still hasn't received till now. NBI stated to her that they had a computer glitch and that was the reason her NBI clearance will be delayed. She check the receipt that the person from the NBI office gave her and it stated that she will get her NBI clearance first week of October.

Is this possible? Is there any other way to get the NBI clearance faster? I would hate to be waiting and when the first week of October rolls around and we still don't have our NBI clearance.

Which branch of NBI did your fiance go? I experienced that too, it's been past one month since I applied for my NBI clearance, they told me it's really slow because of new system and they sent our application to Manila. I live in Baguio. After one month and pissed off because of that, I called them up to inquire about when they will release it and they told me it's taking so long because it is being process in Manila so he advised me to request a new one instead, I was rushing that time so I requested a new one under a new system in Baguio, it took only 3 hours and I'm done. If you want it faster and you're beating a deadline for interview, you should get one in manila.

She applied through the NBI office located on Clark Freeport Zone in Angeles City, Pampanga. If she goes back to the Clark Freeport Zone office and request a new NBI clearance under the new system, would she be able to get her NBI clearance within that day?

I'm not on a deadline yet, but I would like to get it ASAP so that we have everything ready once our NOA2 is approved.

Also, thank you for sharing this... :)

Jill and Dave...

Just read your profile... congrats on passing your interview! Also, great detailed description of your visa interview. I seriously hope we don't get that old filipino guy as our prescreener lol and we don't get a consular officer who ask too many questions! :)

We did the same thing, I applied for my nbi last July. Tell her to go back to Clark or before doing that she can call the office to ask if her NBI clearance is ready. She can also inquire if they have the new system which will take one day :) I think it varies from different office. If she doesn't have the number, she should go to the NBI office directly.

Thanks, the old filipino guy is nice except for murmuring about the age gap. I get that all the time, it's not as if I'm a minor. I'm 25 years old. The consular officer is handsome so better be worried because your fiancee might replace you. lol
