I was wondering the same thing. I actually already paid with a credit card, because when I went to book my CSC appointment online it required me to pay the fee before booking. I just received my packet 4 in the mail today, which says K-1's should pay in cash only.... Not quite sure what to do.

At the consulate is is cash only and must be in US currency. Best way to pay is when you book your interview online by credit card then it is all done in advance. You just show them the receipt.

TerryD you should update your timeline :-)

You did the right thing by paying online when booking. Much easier when you are at the interview. Saves a whole step :-)

Tried to pay online through the phone system and it messes up the expiry date of my card and it gets declined. It is the system they use not my card because I tried on 3 phones and also called the credit card company. The website for Montreal says it accepts credit cards.

Do you already have an interview booked?....If so DO NOT try and pay on the phone line. Take the $350 in USD to the interview with you.

Fees

If you have previously paid all fees due to the National Visa Center, there will be no additional fees to pay on the day of the interview. If you have not paid fees at the National Visa Center, please be prepared to pay the following fees on the day of your interview.

I-130 immigrant petitions filed in Canada: $404.00 US for each applicant

For each family member (spouse/children) added to a petition: $404.00 US for family based

applications and $794 US for Employment based.

SIV cases: $379 US.

K (fiancé/e) visas: $350.00 US cash only

This is what I found on the Montreal consulate.....notice the very last entry.....

Yes I did but the next line in that area is the one that makes people have questions.

All fees may be paid in US dollars or the Canadian dollar equivalent. We accept cash and credit cards only. Please note if a person is found ineligible to receive a visa, the application fee cannot be refunded.

This is why I was asking. Is it that it is in US dollars and not the canadian equivalent or we can't pay by credit card.

It is USD, not the Canadian equivalent. I saw that too about the credit cards. As far as I know it is cash only. That is what I was told by many people that went before me. I paid the $350 when booking online. At one time you could go to Scotia Bank and pay the fee and bring the folio number back home and put it in and book the interview instead of using a credit card. They are going through so many changes. Your safest bet at this time would be to go get the $350 in USD and take it to the interview with you on Monday.
