Timeline

10/24/09 - package arrive in vermont

11/11/09 - received I 797C in mail (extension for a year)

11/19/09 received letter for fingerprinting

12/04/09 - FP appointment Done

marriage certificate

joint bank account statements

rent leases

pictures

baby birthcertificate

car insurance

blue cross insurance

tax return

water, power , cable , phone & internet bill .

FILED JOINT

call uscis last friday they sent me a letter today saying based on your

request we researched the status of this case . we are actively processing

this case , however we have to perform additional review on this case and

this has caused a longer processing time. if you do not recieve a decision

or other notice of action from us within 6 month of this letter , please cont

act customer service . so it seem my case gonna take 12 months to process or more

anyone got this letter before ?

I personally haven't heard of such a letter, but my guess is they want to keep you off their backs from 6 more months. I am pretty sure you will hear from them within a month or two but if you don't hear from them in two months (or which ever period of time you deem appropriate), then you may want to consider an infopass or contacting your congressman/woman.

Usually a 6 month wait is their standard letter format - just like when you call them they seem to be responding to you by reading some pre-determined answers written in-front of them.

N-400 Naturalization Timeline

06/30/11 .. Package Delivered to Dallas Lockbox

07/06/11 .. Received e-mail notification of application acceptance

07/06/11 .. Check cashed

07/08/11 .. Received NOA letter

07/29/11 .. Received text/e-mail for biometrics notice

08/03/11 .. Received Biometrics letter - scheduled for 8/24/11

08/04/11 .. Walk-in finger prints done.

08/08/11 .. Received text/e-mail: Placed in line for interview scheduling

09/12/11 .. Received Yellow letter dated 9/7/11

09/13/11 .. Received text/e-mail: Interview scheduled

09/16/11 .. Received interview letter

10/19/11 .. Interview - PASSED

10/20/11 .. Received text/email: Oath scheduled

10/22/11 .. Received OATH letter

11/09/11 .. Oath ceremony
