Thia is a specific question for Mexico CDJ timelines.

I received my NOA2 dated from March 5, so now I am waiting for my NVC case number. It seems pretty long time however. Does anybody have experience in the delay between the NOA2 and the NVC case number given by CDJ? Shall I call them to ask for it? It has been one month and a half now !

Hi Claireg,

I don't have a lot of timeline data for CJ sending Packet 3, but I do have a nifty contact form:

https://ciudadjuarez.cms.getusinfo.com/public_inquiry_form.html

It does warn me about the security certificate, but if you have ever gone to the SAT's website that one has a warning too LOL. I would find out if they have your stuff yet because sometimes the Packets get lost on the way from CJ.

April 19, 2010 - NOA1 (documents received at Mexico City Embassy)

April 20, 2010 - NOA2 (received notice April 28, 2010, mailed April 27)

May 3, 2010 - Packet 3 sent (received May 27, 2010)

May 9, 2010 - I emailed them using the inquiry form asking for my case number

May 17, 2010 - received case number and link to Packet 3 by email

May 18, 2010 - sent Packet 3 to Ciudad Juarez

May 28, 2010 - called Ciudad Juarez to see if we had an appointment yet, they said wait 6-8 weeks :(

May 30, 2010 - I return to the US

June 8, 2010 - called and found out appointment date

June 16, 2010 - received Packet 4

July 6, 2010 - interview - Approved!

July 7, 2010 - pick up visa at DHL and POE to activate

July 29, 2010 - welcome letter received

August 1, 2010 - my husband comes home to me

August 13, 2010 - received Green Card

September 28, 2010 - never received Social Security Card, had to apply for it, arrived Sept. 28

Sure! I think there was another member here who had their Packet 3 within about a month, but they never clarified if that was so and if they filed DCF through Mexico City like us. There also is a phone number but I hear they charge. (the extortion line.)

I received a letter dated from March 25th, mentioning my preference category (IR1-FRA) and my priority date which is the date of NOA2. They just say I should begin to prepare myself for the interview by reading the CDJ website....

Ok, thanks...Hmm I bet you have a higher preference being French...From this post that I found, tabta (at least in 2006) got the case number and shortly after that, Packet 3. I'm pretty sure that DCF is a lot faster than in 2006, but it's good to know what steps to look forward to.

After you mentioned this in the other post I thought I would give my input. I am pretty sure it should go alot quicker than it did when I applied. It would have taken longer when I applied but I got my senator here in the US involved. Juarez sent out a letter saying the interview would take place within the next 2 months. 2 months passed and we had never even received a date. So I contacted my senator and after they worked their magis we had an interview 2 months later. Be sure when things do happen that all documents are sent to you via UPS from the US if you elected for your documents to get sent to the US. We didnt and we went to the interview without a letter. Because neither copy arrived due to the unreliability of the mexican mail. So needless to say we almost missed the medical and the interview.

Now that my husband is a citizen, we are preparting documents to apply to bring his parents here.

Hi!

I filed from Cozumel and on March 5th I received a the NOA2 letter of approval which was dated Feb 18, 2010. However we still have not received a case number letter or packet from Ciudad Juarez over 2 months later. I just emailed uscis.mexico email to ask if they could check -- I am worried that something may have been mailed but since we are on an island and Cozumel is not known for it's fast, reliable mail service, it may have been lost. Where are you in Mexico?

Thanks for any input.

I am in Cancun where most of the mail arrives -sometimes ok sometimes not very quickly-.

It has been more than 3 weeks for me for the letter from CDJ to arrive in Cancun.(dated 25 March - arrived 21 April).

The letter from Mexico City was sent March 8th and I received it on April 12th.....So more than one month....

If you got your NOA2, then it would be better to ask CDJ consulate as they already received your file from USCIS and it them (CDJ) who will generate your case number.

They have a form where you can email them on the site.

Yes, Liz gave me the CDJ direct email on another topic - I will email them right now since my NOA2 letter I received on March 2 and the approval date was Feb 18 so it only took about 2 weeks to get here from MX City- but I haven't anything since then and it's been over 2 months now. Thanks!

Can I please have the link with the email form? I think I might need to do the same. It's been more than a month since I got my NOA2 from Mexico City and still no case number. Hope it's not lost in the mail.
