CR 1 AND IF1 CLASSIFICATION CODES..

CAN someone please explain the difference between cr1 and if1. They seem to be almost identical ,even though they are different.

CR-1 = CONDITIONAL Resident (Married less than 2 years when residency was granted)

IR-1 = Immediate Relative (Spouse) (Married MORE than 2 years when visa is issued. Results in 10 year permanent green-card.

CR-1 and CR-6 and CF-1 are all of the same species -- immediate relative

spouse of a United States Citizen subject to the condition. The

differences are in the procedure on how you got the status.

CR-1 -- conditional IR status via an IV.

CR-6 -- conditional IR status via adjustment

CF-1 -- conditional IR status via a K-1 adjustment.
