Consulate Review: Costa Rica
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : November 4, 2009
Embassy Review : We had the interview yesterday and it went perfect (although I had nausea and stomachache all day). When they first called us, the lady was checking all the documents and she asked: how long have you known each other, how did you meet, any of you previously married, where did my husband learn spanish. We were told to sit down to wait for the consul. There were 3 people before us. We waited for approx. 1h and the consul called us. As soon as he just saw we put the wedding albums, folders, others on the counter, he said: we don't need those. He checked the documents right away and the only thin he asked was to my husband, what do you do for a living? and TADA!!! He asked the lady next to him, Friday at 3pm to pick up visa, right? She said yes, then he said Friday, 3pm to pick up visa. Then I said, that's it? Listo? He said yeah, Friday. I asked if I could have my old passport back and I will get my visa on Friday.
Rating : Very Good

POE Review: Houston
Event Description
Entry Date : 2009-11-07
Embassy Review : My husband and I made line at the US citizens and residents line. The officer was very nice. He took my passport with the visa, then took my fingerprints and pictures. He asked about the documents and put them on a yellow folder with my passport. He asked us to wait for a little bit. Another officer came and took me and some other people to secondary revision where there were a lot of people waiting and a lot of IO's. After they looked at my documents, they took me and 3 other ladies to another room. I waited for 10min and an officer took my index finger fingerprint and then another one put the stamp on my passport and gave some instructions for removing conditions. It was a little intimidating, but overall good.
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
