Consulate Review: Dominican Republic
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : May 23, 2009
Embassy Review : OK APPROVED!!!! Here is the story:

4AM: Arrived at the embassy......there were about 5 people in line at the time.

6AM: Started letting people in. Got frisked and everything.

7:05AM: Called to Window 17 to give the forms DS-156 and DS-230, police report, passport, receipt for Bank, etc. Sat back down.

7:55AM: Called to window 13 for fingerprints......there was some kind of mix up and we had to sit back down and wait.

7:58: Called BACK to window 13 and gave fingerprints.

9:55: Called to Window 17 for interview......it was a young american woman that spoke spanish. We swore in in spanish and the questions began.....

She asked me: "You want to tell me a little about how you met?"

I answered told her I met her through a friend of mine that was dating her cousin and he thought that Rosa seemed like a nice girl and they gave me her phone number and I called.....after conversation we exchanged emails to send pictures.....then I visited her in June and we got along really well.

Then She asked Rosa (in spanish): "Tell me about the first time you met."

Rosa answered and told her about the dinner that we had over her cousin's home the first time we met.

Then she asked me "I see that you had another petition for another woman....can you tell me what happened?"

I then told her about how the other woman was unfaithful and was talking to other men and I found out after she already had the VISA and how I tried to call the embassy and cancel the VISA but they said it was too late. So she came here to the US without my permission and she only wanted the VISA.

The lady said "OK......one second." She started typing on the computer and then said "Hold on..."

she then got up and left and returned with another woman.

She then asked "I see that you visited Dominican republic before...where did you go?"

I told her Santiago....before I met Rosa.

the other lady left and then she returned and then she asked me one last question: "Are you afraid that Rosa is going to leave you when she get to the US because of what happened with the other woman?"

I told her that I was not worried about that because I have known Rosa for an entire year and she has always been the same woman even after one year.

She then typed more on the PC and said "Congratulations your VISA has been approved!"

WE WE SOOOOOOOO EXCITED........
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
