Consulate Review: Dominican Republic
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : September 30, 2008
Embassy Review : Let me see...where should i start? I believe the process was I expected. We got there at around 3am and there were people already on line. Their was some confusion as to what line K1 visas should stand but we were on the correct one which was against the wall. We made it in ....DON'T BRING A CELL PHONE OR ELECTRONIC DEVICE. That held everyone up. I don't remember if we were allowed food in the waiting area but we didn't take any. If you are allowed food, I advise that you take stuff to munch on. The cafeteria did not have the best food and the servers were a bit rude. My (now) husband and I stayed there until closing time...we were one of the last people to be interviewed. We were so tired and tired of the metal benches that we didn't even look that happy when he got approved. We just wanted to get out of there, get something to eat and go straight to bed. I would say that the only down parts were the food and that we were the last interviews. Other than that it went as expected.
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
