Event Description

Embassy Review : My appointment was at 11am, and I got to the embassy at around 10:15am. The queue was very long and I had joined the back however a couple minutes later a lady who worked for the embassy was walking along the queue asking if we had checked in. As I hadn’t (I didn’t see any signage to suggest this) I walked up to the check in desk (which is outside), gave them my passport and DS-160 confirmation page and told them I was applying for a K1.

She then let me skip the queue!! I joined another very small one, the security man asked for me to unlock my phone and then showed me inside to a security scanner. I went through and then exited this building to go up to the next one to join another queue. This one didn’t take long at all and at the desk I gave them my passport and my DS-160 confirmation page, she told me to take the elevator up to the first floor and wait by the booths that were shown on my ticket.

I waited around 15 minutes and was called up to the first booth, the man asked for:

- Passport
- Birth certificate
- Police certificate
- Affidavit of support + supporting evidence
- Visa/Passport style photos

He also took my fingerprints.

He then asked me if both my fiancé or I had ever been married, if I was adopted or if I’d ever changed my name. He also asked me how we met. He gave me a copy of my medical results and then asked me to sit back down.

Another 20 minutes or so passed and I was called up to a different booth with a lovely American woman who asked me to swear an oath (I held my hand up and said “I agree” to the fact everything I said was true) checked my fingerprints again and asked me how me and my fiancé met, and how he proposed. She then gave me back my birth certificate and my police certificate, said everything looked good and that my visa was approved!

All in all it was a very smooth process and I didn’t really have to wait long at all. It was very busy but the staff were lovely and they run a very organised place!
Rating : Very Good

Hey mate, have you your package 3. I have not received mine as of yet. What do you advise??

Hi! So I actually received it today! However…they sent the first page of the letter detailing the petition was approved etc but then on the letter it says “see attached sheet for information on all you are required to fulfil and provide” but didn’t send me that sheet ? So I’ve got to ring them!

Ah congrats. Have you submitted the DS-160 ?? I have submitted mine, get my medical report from my GP and other doc ready. Also waiting on the package 3 to scheduled interview.

I have my vaccine record, that’s it, I was waiting for the package 3 to do everything else. DS-160 will be filled out this weekend alongside scheduling interview and medical! And then I just need to sort the ACRO, I’ll do that tomorrow to get the ball rolling!

That awesome. Please let keep updating each other. Thanks and good luck.

No problem! Have you applied for your ACRO yet? If so how long did it take to reach you? Trying to work out timescales so I can book my interview and medical accordingly!

Hi Mike, I did mine yesterday so hopefully should receive mine back in around 3 weeks ready for me to book my medical and interview! I did have to email the embassy because they only sent half of my package 3 so it might be worth popping over an email to them? I wish you the best of luck on your final leg of the journey!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
