Fellow hker here. Happy that your progress is moving. I think our case is only a few weeks ahead of yours. Hard part is getting the police confirmation from all countries lived in more than year by the beneficiary let me know if you need tips

Thanks GordonSand. Luckily for my case, the beneficiary only lives in Hong Kong. But the hardest part for me would be the proof of domicile, since I am living with the beneficiary here in Hong Kong for years.

here is what I put in my cover letter: I, Gordon xxxx, am currently residing in Hong Kong with my spouse, xxxx. Because of the political tensions/Covid policy in Hong Kong, my aging parents (xxxxx[age 79], and xxxx [age 83]), and my Dad’s Alzheimer’s (which has placed him in a care home), I am now making plans to return back to the USA. Below you will find a list of attached documents to show that my principal residence is in the US and the steps that I have taken to return to the US with my wife. Steps I have taken to maintain US Domicile: • Maintained my Texas voter registration • Maintained my PayPal credit card registered in the US • Maintained my Sam’s Club Membership registered in the US • Maintained my brokerage and savings account at eTrade • Maintained my Texas driver’s license • Maintained storage facility at White Rock Storage • Maintained membership in the Project Management Institute • Maintained my automobile NTTA TollTag • Maintained my membership in United States Dragonboat Federation • Maintained my membership in AARP (formerly American Association of Retired Persons) • Maintained my automobile in the care of my parents Supporting Documents for the above steps I have taken: • Voter registration record showing permanent US address • PayPal credit card statement showing US billing address • Sam’s Club membership showing permanent US address • eTrade Brokerage and Savings statement showing permanent US address • Storage facility statements from White Rock Storage • Texas driver’s license showing permanent US address • Project Management Institute membership showing permanent US address • North Texas Tollway Authority statement with permanent US Address • My membership in United States Dragonboat Federation • My membership in AARP (formerly American Association of Retired Persons) • My auto insurance on my car (under the care of my parents) with myself listed as a driver. Steps I have taken to return to the US to take up residence: • Made arrangements for my wife and me to have a house to live in, either with my mom in xxxx, Texas, or at my wife's flat in Chicago (listed under assets). • Contacted and met with recruiters when I was in Dallas. • Contacted shipping company for an estimate of costs to ship belongings • Had pet vaccinated and inoculated as per State of Texas Requirements Supporting documents for the above steps I have taken: • Closing documents for Chicago property (Uploaded under Proof of Assets) • LinkedIn Messages from Recruiters • Email from Sanelo (Santa Fe Relocation company) with estimate and correspondence regarding shipping our belongings • Pet’s vaccination record from Vet, inoculated as per State of Texas Requirements I declare that I intend in good faith to re-establish my domicile in the United States no later than the date of my spouse's admission into the US. I certify under penalty of perjury under the laws of the United States that the statements in this letter and all accompanying evidence are true and correct.

Hi Gordon, I think I'm fine with my DS260, but a bit stuck on the income questions with my I864. Should I input $0 as my income while still input my name of my employer here in HK?
GordonSand on 2023-01-30 said:
That is one of the challenges we were facing. I really don’t know the answer. Are you listed as the sponsor? What about income in the US for the sponsorship? Luckily my wife has a rental property that we can use as “income” that will meet the standard. They also asked for 3 moths worth of paystubs here in hong kong, since I was under the threshold of US income. My job pays well here. Hopefully they will realize I can make the same in the USA
blank avatar Way on 2023-01-30 said:
Fortunately my brother is willing to be my joint sponsor. But I'm just not sure how am I suppose to fill the income part.
GordonSand on 2023-01-30 said:
Yeo. Save yourself an RFE and just add three months pay stubs ;-)

This is the relevant section for you as the sponsor: If the poverty guidelines change between the time the petitioner signed the Affidavit of Support and the issuance of an immigrant visa, must the petitioner/sponsor and joint sponsor, if required, submit a new Form I-864? No, the Form I-864 remains valid indefinitely unless evidence of failure to meet the poverty guidelines in effect on the date of I-864 filing arises. The consular officer will determine whether the income claimed by the sponsor and documented with financial evidence meets the poverty guidelines in effect at the time the I-864 was filed. If the income claimed does not meet the poverty guidelines, then the consular officer may request that the sponsor submit current year income information. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/i-864-affidavit-faqs.html

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
