Howdy! We're a few weeks behind your process - was 10/31 the earliest interview available? Wondering what the wait is looking like with hopes that they'll get ours via one of the next two shipping dates. Thanks, and congrats on your milestone!

Hi ?, thank you so much! Unfortunately, the DR embassy is a little behind and only a few days yesterday were left for October 31, I believe they will be opening November now. They open the dates I believe every other Wednesday (today). Good luck to you on your journey! And your almost there!

Thanks for the quick reply and thank you! You two too!

Keep sending inquiries to the nvc as well to get your case number, it took me 71 days to get the case number.

Sorry not days but time slots for the 31st lol

Thanks and no worries, I knew what you meant! :D Last question - the DR site at ( https://do.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee/the-interview/ ) says that we need a DS-260. I'm thinking that is an error. Did they let you schedule with a DS-160 or do we need the 260? Don't want to pay for the wrong form when it's time.

If your k-1 you fill out the DS-160 and you pick the option for immigrant visa (I know it’s confusing) because there will be the option for “K” visas. Once you get your case number you will have to wait for them to send the petition to the DR embassy when it’s in “Ready status” you pay for the visa application, it takes a few days to almost a couple of weeks (to be safe) for the payment to be approved the beneficiary gets an email that they can book online. Without that email you can’t book an appt. Side note: now this is a theory I feel if the visa is paid with DR credit card it gets processed faster rather than a USA credit card

Also when you get the case number and you begin to track your case there will be a link that says you must fill out the DS-160 this is the website https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx To track your petition: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx

Awesome, thank you for your tips! I appreciate it!

Hi, me again! Don't feel obligated to reply but I have two more questions. 1) Did you wait until your READY status to submit the DS-160 or can we submit that now that we have a case number? (finally got it, yay!) 2) Did they issue you an appointment automatically or did you have to wait for the READY status and then pay the visa fee and then schedule your appointment? Thanks for your help! I wish there were clearer instructions out there!

Hey, you can fill out the DS-160 now but you won’t be able to pay for it until your case is on “ready” and yes once you pay the fee you have to wait for an email to be sent to book an appointment

Thanks so much!

Congrats on getting your i-129 F approved, and soon to be K-1 visa! To be able to finally close the distance is such an AMAZING step during this long process. We recently got our NOA2, and would love to know in advance what documents the DR embassy asked you for the interview? We’re trying to gather EVERYTHING ASAP just so we can be ready beforehand. Hope you can help us out ?

Question, I have been trying for a week to get an appointment in Santo Domingo and I get the screen to make the first appointment for the biometrics but then then after picking the date the next screen says no appointments available. After a few attempts I was then locked out for 72 hours for too many attempts. Did you have any issues making your appointment? Thanks
blank avatar Árida on 2023-09-01 said:
@_carollyd3118 sorry for the late reply. I haven’t had my interview yet, but the beneficiary brings the i134 form with tax transcripts that you can get from irs.gov, w-2, paystubs, conversations and photos of going relationship, and letter of intent to marry (that you’re still planning on marrying within the 90 days) a lot of the times they don’t ask to see this but just have it in case. Heads up this i134 is more of a draft the real declaration of support is when you do the AOS. Congratulations as well =) definitely feels good to be close to the end but beginning of living out lives with our loved ones!

@escalda Hey, as of now there are no appointments available so don’t feel bad that you got locked out for three days. The embassy put appointments I believe the beginning of August so I’m guessing they are coming either Tuesday or Wednesday next week. You do make your biometric appointment first then comes the screen for the embassy appointments but there is nothing yet. Hopefully in the next week there will be, but they might be for the months of November and forward because for September and October they are all taken according to the embassy
blank avatar Árida on 2023-09-10 said:
Hey, I’m not sure if you guys have been able to schedule an interview but lately the embassy has been opening up random appointments for September, October, November and December
Jgray808 on 2023-09-10 said:
Thanks for the info! We requested access to the calendar on 9/1 and are still waiting. We called Friday and they said to call back next week Friday if we still haven’t been given access. Fingers crossed for tomorrow!
blank avatar Árida on 2023-09-10 said:
Ok, Great!! Hopefully they approve you soon to book an appt!!

Quick question- how long did it take to return the passport after the interview? Thanks much.
blank avatar Árida on 2023-09-13 said:
Escalada- I haven’t had the interview yet but I heard 10-14 days but some have been getting it within a week.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
