Comments : 1/24 There was an uprising this weekend in Ouagadougou where the US Embassy is. As a result, the embassy decided to close today and tomorrow. Our interview was supposed to be today 1/24/2022 :( Now we have to wait to be re-scheduled. When it rains, it pours. Literally cannot catch a break!

2/4 Nathan received his visa today :) FINALLY. Something to celebrate. Hopefully, once he takes care of some things at home, he will be on his way here late next week! Just in case anyone wants to know how the interview went, he said the consular officer was very nice. She carried on in casual conversation with him, asked about our relationship, how we met, when we visited each other, what it was like living the states (when he lived here for a few years), what he did for work in the states and now back in Togo, etc. Everything looked good to her; the hangup was they were waiting for his medical results to arrive and with the borders being closed after the military coup, their mailroom was super backlogged. So that is why we had to wait so long to actually receive the visa.

I was able to chat with her by email and she was always very nice and sympathetic. We told her our wedding date and how we were in a race for time and she understood and did her best to help us out. All in all, a good experience!

Hi, I have a question if you don't mind. Did you call the NVC to ask if they'd received your case?
Haley45 on 2021-11-24 said:
Hi! Yes I did! I started calling them this week and luckily, last night they had received. Only took 2 weeks! I used the non immigrant line and got through pretty quick in the evenings.

That's awesome. We will try ourselves this Friday. Which number did you call and at what EST time if I may ask?
Haley45 on 2021-11-24 said:
603-334-0888 and I would either call around 7:15 AM or 6:00 PM or 8:30 PM, all EST. The morning times always took a bit longer for me but the evening hours I was usually able to get through within 10-15 minutes.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
