Hey there! Good luck with your interview and hope it all goes smoothly. We just got our Case # on Sep-24 but I was told by NVC that the Santo Domingo Consulate are not accepting K1 visa cases. Did you have to call the consulate or take any action to have them process your case? Thanks!

Hola!

Thank you, and good luck to you as well!

The nvc has been telling people that. It's not true. They are absolutely processing. So far people with ready status of sept 18 2021 have interview dates

https://chat.whatsapp.com/ERbfhWY0Dmj0lYPG0ozt0q This is a whattsap group for DR k1 and cr1 if you're interested in joining. Also once you have been at the nvc for two weeks.. start calling to get your invoice number. It starts with sdo. Then you can start tracking your case on the ceac.com site

Thank you Megan! Yeah we found out the same thing... Our status changed to Ready. We filled out the DS-160 but we're confused about next steps. Are we supposed to wait for communication? We were unable to make an account on Traveldocs to pay and schedule, which I read on VJ that those are next steps.

Keep checking the ceac.com Nevada when your date changes . That means you received your email for your ingredients Interview. When did you turn to ready status?
Melanie And Casey on 2021-10-04 said:
Megan, a month ago i received the email from NVC saying my case was sent to the consulate. My status also says "ready" on the ceac.state.gov, it was last updated on September 16, 2021. I am just missing my photos to finish my DS -260... anything else we should be doing you think? Thanks! Ron, seems like we are at the same stage! I just joined the wasap group too. Hopefully we will make it by the end of the year! do you imagine?
Rh929292 on 2021-10-04 said:
We turned Ready on Sep-30-2021. I'm not 100% sure but it seems that it turned Ready right after we submitted our DS-160 electronically, because just 2 days ago it was In-Transit. We haven't received any email about an interview, though. Mel&Casey: I hope so! End of year is what we keep picturing in our minds... fingers crossed that it happens for both of us!

Keep watching your email and checking ceac.com. I have been analyzing people's time and lately they have been receiving their interview email about 8 days after ready date
blank avatar Mmd82 on 2021-10-04 said:
@melanie are you k1? If so its ds160. When did you receive that email?
Melanie And Casey on 2021-10-04 said:
Megan, yes. I am doing a K-1 process. And yes, I am almost done with the ds 160**. My partner (the petitioner) received the email from NVC on August 31st, titled: "The National Visa Center sent your K1 visa petition to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic".
Rh929292 on 2021-10-06 said:
Congrats on getting your interview scheduled. So exciting... Good luck! I think I saw your messages in the WhatsApp group but I lost track. Did you have to take any action to schedule or pay your fee after submitting your DS-160, or did you wait for communication from the embassy? In any case we'll continue watching email and ceac. Thanks to you both!
Melanie And Casey on 2021-10-06 said:
the consulate sent my partner (the petitioner) an email with the interview appointment date and instructions to get a doctors check up and a VAC appointment. That was sent on the 16th of september but it landed on "correo no deseado". We randomly found it just in time. So, no action was taken to set an interview. the consulate sent me the interview date. I then filed the DS 160 form (free to fill, you can fill it right now actually). I used that code to request a VAC appointment. When setting my VAC appointment, I had to pay something like 120 dollars and then picked the date/time.
Melanie And Casey on 2021-10-06 said:
Ron, keep checking ceac and as soon as it says ready, you should look into your email, even the Spam section. Meanwhile, you can do you DS 160, and get yourself vaccinated for covid and, why not, the rest of the required vaccines. Just make sure you start a vaccination record that you can show to the consular doctors. You can see the requested vaccines on the wasap group. I took my vaccination card I had been working on this last year since i knew of that requirement and they accepted it. I am sure I saved a good amount of money because of that!

Melanie were you able to go to medical?
Melanie And Casey on 2021-10-06 said:
Yes! I went yesterday. They said my results might be ready in time for the interview pero if that is not the case, I can still go to the interview and submit my medical once they are ready.
Rh929292 on 2021-10-08 said:
We got our embassy appointment! Late October. We'll just be 2 weeks behind you, Melanie! My fiancee will make sure to do medical and schedule VAC appointment. Thanks for sharing all the steps. Not sure if this is normal, but when we check ceac using our DS-160 application ID, it says No Status. When we check using our NVC Case ID, it has said Ready.

Congratulations both of you!!! That's so awesome. Now the fun begins! How long did it take you to get your In-Extensa birth certificate? We weren't able to get it same-day. Were there any documents that you had to bring with you that weren't listed on either the emabassy interview email or the list that the medical place gave you? It seems like the required documents is different depending on where you look. My fiancee is going to bring additional stuff like a copy of the NOA2 and the I-134.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
