Consulate Review: Dominican Republic
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : December 13, 2021
Embassy Review : We had an IR1 (we were officially 2 years married on 11/26/21) and because our appointment was 12/2/21 we were told it would be a 10 year VISA not 2 year VISA. HAPPY NEWS LOL

So basically when we were at the 1st window, we were asked for our Interview letter, Birth certificates (my husband and step son - we also applied for him IR2) and passport. I told the man I moved and he updated my address. That was pretty much it.

We then waited 2 hours for the interview - we were asked :
1) When did we get married
2) How did we meet (to my husband)
3) What I do for a living (petitioner)
4) Where do I live(Petitioner)
5) Have you ever applied for a vISA before (to my husband)
6) Have you ever traveled before (to my husband)

To my step son (who is 20 years old ) we were married when he was a week away from turning 18 -
1) Have you traveled before
2) To what country
3) Why

THAT'S IT!!! VISA APPROVED!!

Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
