We were CR-1 Documentarily Qualified on March 5th of 2021. After 3 months and a few calls to the NVC, I (Petitioner) started writing letters. I asked for our case to be expedited. My first letter went out in early June. My second letter went out in early July. I also reached out to my congressman and Senator for "help with a federal agency" I heard back from my congressman after sending a second email. His office had indeed reached out to the NVC. They called me to verify the status of the case and the my expedite letter had been forwarded to the xonsulate. Ultimately our expedite request was accepted by the consulate Santo Domingo. I did not know what to do so in truth I tried everything I could think of.

We're 3 months after you for Documentarily Complete at NVC on June 3rd. I submitted a request to expedite and we received notification today that the request was denied. I tried to justify it medically as a disabled veteran with PTSD. Would you mind saying how you justified the expedition? What did you base it on? Medical conditions? Thank you.

Hello, i wrote two letters the first had two arguments. Emotional distress and financial hardship. (Financial hardship was about the difficulties of maintaining two households through all of this time). When I wrote the second letter I added in USCIS processing delay. USCIS sent a RFE letter but the "my USCIS" portal constantly shpwed nothing was needed. I cannot say for certain what letter they approved. But I do not believe that it hurt me that my congressman also reached out to the NVC. Find a congressman or senator and ask for "help with a government agency". They have forms that you fill out directly online. I petitioned one Congressman and Two Senators. It just turned out that my congressman moved faster than the other two.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
