Consulate Review: Korea
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : April 8, 2022
Embassy Review : Our interview was at 7:45am.

7:20 got to the embassy with the petitioner (were maximum 5 people already there, one woman with 3 kids before us)
7: 25 got inside (left phones and went up to the 2nd floor where they checked passport, 2 photos and document return address registration)
Went to the 3rd floor and got called to the window where Korean lady was asking questions and checking papers.
The lady asked: How long you been married? where does your spouse live? some other questions I cant remember but not complicated
Then she said she will give the documents to the officer who will interview me and I sat down.
Waited around 1.5 hours or more from the moment we entered and was called for an interview with another male officer with petitioner.

He asked:
Where did you meet?
The timeline of our relationship.
Why we married relatively early> my husband replied (met 2019 march, married 2020 January)
what my husband does for work
our plans in the USA> I replied
How we went to the USA with my husband to meet his family, his brother's wedding.

Officer did not look at the photo album we brought

Then asked my husband to sit down and asked if I read over the paper the 1st lady officer gave me about human trafficking and domestic violence.
I said yes
Do I have any questions about that> I said NO

Then he cancelled my B1B2 visa that i still had that was active until this year.

Returned ALL the papers except my passport because we filed online and said that my passport will be returned within 1 week.

We went home after.

Overall took half a day.

Everyone was nice and professional.

My advice, be prepared but do not stress.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
