My husband had his interview yesterday in Dallas and his Card is being processed!
We arrived at 8:00 for our 8:40 appt. Our Lawyer was with us. It is a bit like the airport where you stand in line to go through security. Really thorough, but extremely friendly guys. One guy had a pocket knife and was sent to put in his car, but told to come to front of line on his return. Very respectfully done.
Once inside we were told which line to get into to have biometrics checked. Lots of staff, so maybe took us 5 mins to get to front of line. The lady was very sweet and teased me about my husband. Really put me as ease. She just took a photo and checked fingerprints and we were done.
Then upstairs. Gave paperwork (that came in mail) and was called about 10 minutes later. Super clean. We were called by a very efficient young lady. She checked both our passports, and looked at SS card that arrived recently. Then Hubby swore his oath. Then she asked him loads of questions, firstly his full name, then address, did he have kids. She asked when he arrived in USA and he couldn't remember, so I started to say something and she told me "He is under oath here, not you", or words to that effect. In other words, shut up! I did!! She then went over many of the questions asked on form I-485. It took about 10 mins. She then said that she needed to do some additional Background check and we would hear within 30 days. Well by the time we had stopped for breakfast and been shopping I got home and checked the USCIS website, it said that the Card was being processed. She didn't ask to see any other paperwork at all. Now this could have been because we had originally applied for I-130 and was already approved, but due to Covid came to USA. So just a formality. The agent was polite, but no personality showed through. Whereas our lawyer saw another client after us and said their Agent was super friendly and they chatted about all sorts of stuff. I guess it is just on the day and the person you get. But heck, it was ok! Good luck to you all.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
