Consulate Review: El Salvador
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : December 28, 2020
Embassy Review : The interview was good, but they are very disorganized do not follow the hours scheduled and you never know when is your turn, they call you but there is no way to know when is your turn, I had to wait almost 4 hours, my interview was fast less than 10 minutes.
Rating : Good

My fiancée and I just received our NOA2 approval today. I am curious if they kept your passport after the interview or did they give you the visa at the end of the interview? I’ve been following your timeline to try to get a ballpark estimate of what we can expect during the rest of the process. Thanks!

hello, question, how did you get your interview? Website says they are not taking interviews right now but I see two cases out there that cleared.

Hello Kjmdrumz3, they keep the passport if the interview is approved they take 5- 7 days to give the passport with the visa printed on it, good luck with your application

Hello Sandie go, they called me, I called the NVC and they escalated my case so my embassy contacted me and scheduled my interview.

We scheduled our medical already and I am hoping that will put pressure on the embassy to schedule us. What they told us is to keep looking for open interview times on the US Travel docs website. But there are no times posted. I think once we get the medical done I'll start emailing and calling.

Yes, that's the best thing to go, I did that after the medical called the embassy and they gave me the interview date by phone, and no don't wait till is available you have to push a little if you want things to go fast that's my opinion based on my own experience

Hello I'm following your timekinr again. BTW we got interviewed and approved! Question. I noticed you all had an RFE come back to you on your AOS application? Was it more proof of marriage?
blank avatar Andrea VelasquezR on 2021-06-07 said:
Yes I just received and RFE but they was just asking for the form I - 864 and the taxes from 2020 again. They didn't ask for more, hopefully we will have some more news soon
blank avatar Sandiegodan2020 on 2021-06-08 said:
That's crazy. And good luck to you both. So you submitted the I-864 and they asked for it again? I read those stories on here. That they miss a birth certificate you submitted. Maybe the machine scanner eats the paper.
blank avatar Andrea VelasquezR on 2021-06-28 said:
Yes, they did and haven't update anything yet, we submitted the AOS on March 8, on June 22 I requested and expedite for the EAD to be able to work I have a job offer and I haven't be scheduled for the bio yet hopefully I will soon.

Keep us posted. We are right behind you. Did they accept the expedite request?

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
