My wife and I wish you the best!! We got married on 12/5 too, but 2019. So we are following your case very closely! LOL

Thanks. So far our interview hasn't happened. The Nairobi embassy has been shut down since March 2nd and they cancelled all interviews from March 2nd thru the 4th so far. They claim there is a power outage. I will update my timeline once we get rescheduled for an interview (they haven't given us a timeline of how long it will take to get rescheduled for an interview).

Husband was approved foe the visa but we are now impacted by the Coronovirus. The consulate is said to be closed and suspending all visa services and we have no idea when we will receive the visa because they’re closed indefinetely.

Congratulations!!! That is awesome!! The visa will come! The approval is the important thing.

Hi Bua, Have you received the visa yet? I was wondering if we should expect a similar time frame as yours in the NVC stage. Our I-130 was approved in 81 days and now we are wondering how long to expect the NVC stage to take. Any thoughts?

Visa services are still suspended at the Nairobi consulate. They asked us to monitor their web site to see when the service resumes. As soon as they resume we will be allowed to send the passport to them via DHL so that they can stamp it.

Oh ok! Thank you! Are you in Nairobi? My wife was wanting to talk with someone who can tell her about the medical part.

Do you know how much the medical cost in Nairobi? We were also thinking that maybe her and the kids could get some shots somewhere else around town that might be cheaper? Any thoughts would be helpful.
blank avatar Renee Bua on 2020-05-15 said:
For my husband, the medical was around $270. For each person you should be prepared to have up to $450 because it all depends on if you need certain shots. But for a more accurate estimate, I strongly recommend that you call them. I’m not sure if there are any other locations with cheaper. We didn’t do any research on those.
Mintosman on 2020-05-15 said:
Thank you for that information. Looking back. Does your husband think he could have done some of the shots ahead of time at another clinic that was cheaper than IOM?
blank avatar Renee Bua on 2020-05-15 said:
My husband would’t know. I handled all paperwork and gave him the information on where to go to get the shot. He did no research and neither did I.. I simply followed the advice of the NVC letter we received and paied the fee that was requested from them.
