Comments : Flew to Jacksonville via Atlanta. Got pulled over in Atlanta (the Officer was very unpleasant)...then taken to Immigration Officer desk. We were asked where we were staying and where our green cards should be sent. We then had our visas stamped and were free to go.
It was all a bit surreal and not exactly what I was expecting, but after 3 long years we are finally in Florida with our daughter and Grandson. We've bought a car and put an offer on a house. Next step, health insurance, which should be fun 🙄😅

Event Description
Review Date : August 3, 2021
Embassy Review : Stayed at the Travelodge and got an Uber to the embassy as it was raining and there is so much building work, it's tricky walking there.
Started queuing and realised we were in the wrong one as we just did the sheep thing and followed the crowd 🙄. Luckily the Visa queue was very short, so we showed our interview letter to the guard and then went through security. Once through you are directed into a large waiting room. There are desks and windows on one side and all the chairs are in the middle. No vending machines so take a drink.
You are given a number and when this flashes up on the screen you go to the corresponding desk. The guy we saw was British and he did our fingerprints and we had to hand over all our documents plus our daughters latest tax return. (This is significant as due to the immigration delays, the one on our file was too old, so make sure you get the latest one before the interview).
We then sat back down and had to wait to be called forward again.
It's friendly in there with people chatting about why they are there and the delays and dramas etc 😅
Got called to another window and seen by a very lovely lady. She asked us what we were planning on doing in the US and who was sponsoring us. Did our fingerprints again and we were told to remove our masks. She told us all she looks for on the medical is the letter B, which tells her there are no medical concerns.
It was all over in about ten minutes.
She told us that she was approving our residency but to check with border control on whether we could go back and forth before the visa expired.
We had flights booked for July (was for a holiday)..but need to go back to finalise house sale and we have removals booked for 13 September.
Rating : Very Good

We just got approval yesterday. (15 November). You should hear something very soon as they seem to have caught up on the backlog a bit. Good luck.

We have just sent off for our Police checks. Thought we would get these done ahead of time as they last 12 months. Not heard anything from NVC but with thanksgiving and Christmas we weren’t expecting to hear anything until new year. I’m thinking of giving them a call tomorrow to see if there is any news!

Same here, not heard anything from NVC yet. I've tried call them a few times but I couldn't got through... I hope you get information! Keep me posted:)

I tried to call but also couldn’t get through, then on Tuesday we received an email asking to pay our fees so that we can start the next stage! We now have an online account with NVC and a Case Number so we can track progress. You can only pay using a bank account. They don’t take credit or debit cards so you need the routing number and bank account number. It takes a few days for the payment to clear and then it says I can complete the AOS and scan and send all the civil documents they require. Hope you hear something soon. They seem to be quite quick. (Compared to Nebraska)! 😅

Thank you for your update & information! That's great news that you have received case number already and moving forward. I hope I can get it soon that way i can request for expedite for my daughter's school enrollment in U.S. Yes, you are right. it seems to be quicker than Nebraska:)

Well, I guess like hundreds of others, our ‘Parent of a US Citizen’ application is still on hold. We had a message from NVC in Feb 2020, saying we had been transferred to the Embassy in London. Then Covid happened. I doubt if we will continue with our application as we have moved house and will settle down and just visit the US for longer periods as and when the travel ban gets lifted. We got tired of living in limbo. It’s been years. Our grandson was a baby when we started and he’s now turning 5!

Had a big surprise the other day...we received an email from NVC that we have interviews arranged on 30 June. Very excited and nervous at same time. Its been a long old wait, so fingers crossed we get through the medical and interview....had to re apply for Police certificates and go through all paperwork to see if its still in date!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
