Hi Katie & Chris, So I have recently submitting my I-130, and am finding the looming wait times extremely daunting. Can I possibly ask...Was there something specific with your case that made it go through so fast? or were you guys simply lucky? Hope to hear from you. Blaise+Jesse :)

There may have been a way that I was supposed to indicate on the timeline, so I'm sorry if this needlessly gave false hope! We were able to do direct consular filing through the London Embassy because I (the American citizen) have been living in the UK for about 2 years. I was really daunted at the idea of waiting for 8-10 months as well, and ultimately was floored at how fast everything came together through DCF - I suppose there's just a lot less volume of applications via that route. Hopefully this is relevant! If not, I hope things end up moving more swiftly than expected!

Hi, Thanks for getting back to me to fast. I did suspect that this may have been the case. Thanks for replying anyway! Congratulations on your guys’ visa :)

Hi Katie and Chris. I am thinking of living in Honduras with my husband while he waits to get his visa. I have been told that my income in Honduras would not count, and I have to show income from the U.S. How did this work for you living outside the U.S? Thank you

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
