Comments : The experience at the Tukwila was brilliant. My wife and I turned up 15 and checked in 15 minutes before the scheduled interview at 1:30pm.

We then waited for our ticket number to be called. A officer greeted us and was very pleasant to speak with. He swore my wife and I in and then he proceeded to update my I-485 as we filed it almost 2 years ago to this date. We then asked my wife and I some pretty straight forward questions about our marriage. We prepared thoroughly for the interview but to be honest, he didn't ask for our wedding certificate or any of my wife's (other than her WA driving licence). He asked several times where we got married. The officer originally advised I needed to provide an updated vaccinations form. However, after I advised him that my full medical should be in my file and that I completed it within 2 years of the date I filed my I-485, he checked over the guidelines and corrected himself. He was very patient and after looking at some of the pictures and a letter from our insurance. He said he would most likely get us approved. He told me to check my status within 2-3 hours and pretty much congratulated us at this point. It was the best feeling! He asked if we had any questions and I asked about the citizenship timeline. He said I could apply for citizenship in Dec 2024. When he escorted us out of the offices he said "see you in 3 years". The officer was very friendly and even made a few jokes with us. My wife and I are so excited! God Bless the USA!

Event Description

Embassy Review : Appointment was 9:30am. Arrived at 9am. They scanned my DS-160 outside security and asked me to come back at 9:15. As I was applying for K1(immigration) I would be able to skip the long queue and go straight to my appointment. I wanted about 30 minutes until I was called up to the first of 2 windows.

The gentleman was very friendly. He asked how I met my fiancé. I explained I was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints. And he was really fasinated by that. He took my documents. I handed him my police certificate and as it had "no live trace" on my certificate I also handed him a ACRO special access report. I basically got in a fight when I was 12 and recevied a reprimand. The officer said there's nothing to worry about as everyone gets on flights when they're 12. Honestly he made me feel so calm!

I waited another 15 minutes and then was called up to a second window. The woman interviewing me was very professional, little expression and asked me 2-3 times if I had ever got into trouble after this incident when I was 12 which I explained I hadn't. After asking a few question about where my finacé lives.

She looked up and smiled, congratulated me and said I would receive my visa in 7-10 days! 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄

So excited to go be with my lass. ♥️

All the best everyone! Don't worry too much about the interview process. Just make sure you have all your documents and that you are COMPLETELY HONEST in your ds160 and interview.

Huge congrats :) please can I ask whether you called NVC for case number? Or waited for letter? Thanks

Hey, thank you! Yeah we called them about 10 days after the NOA2 and they provided me with my LND number. You will either need the letter they send or an email confirming your LND number to take to the medical. All the best!

Thank you, how long after you got the number did you get the letter or did you request a email? Sorry for asking so much info just helpful for timeframes/ long notice period at work etc thanks

We got approved the 6th November. The NOA2 came about a week later. I received a letter on the 12th December by the NVC and one from the London Embassy on the 27th December. I gathered all my evidence, police certificates etc. But I went on holiday to America for a month on the 10th December. So I booked and attended my medical and interview when I came home in January. All the best!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
