So this review is probably nothing new but if I can help even just one person feel more relaxed then this will be all worth it.
My interview was on Monday 25th February 2019. I'm from Scotland, so I got up at 3am to catch my 6am flight to London Stansted, I then had to go on a train and then underground to get to the embassy. I arrived at the embassy at around 9am, however my interview wasn't until 11:30 so I just went around the corner and sat in the Waitrose for a couple hours. I was pretty much as nervous and anxious as it gets!! I had an accordion folder filled with everything I could possibly think they might ask for (Just in case). Eventually it got to 11:00 and I made my way back to the embassy to start getting in the queue outside. A friendly security officer asked when my appointment was and informed me I could make my way through the airport style security and through into the embassy. Once in the embassy they check your DS-160 and put a sticker on it and your passport with your number and then you are directed to use the elevators up to the first floor and just follow it all the way round to the left. My number was already up on the screen when I got to the first floor, so I went straight up to the window and handed over my passport, 1 passport photo,,birth certificate, DS-160, affidavit of support + employment letter and that was it. I took my seat once again and then about 45 minutes later a very stern professional lady asked me about 3 questions about my fiance. (How did you meet? How long have you been together, how many visits) and then she stamped my folder with an A and told me I had been approved and I could expect an email regarding receiving my visa in 7-10 business days. My visa was issued after 4 business days and I picked it up 1 week and a day after my interview. All in all I was super anxious and nervous for nothing because the whole interview process was very simple. I wish everyone else who is still waiting the best of luck with the rest of the process. Now I can finally start planning for the exciting times ahead. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ |

Timeline Comments: 7Hi there! I'm not far behind you in the process for my UK fiance. I saw your interview date was February 25th :)
When you booked your appointment, were there any sooner than that day? Or are you just giving yourself time to get everything in order? Just wondering because we are trying to get him here before March and we are hoping there are interview dates within a week or two of it being received, although it is still on its way right now!
Congratulations on almost being finished with this process!!!!
Hello! Congrats you are so close to the next hurdle. When I booked my appointment there were dates available for the next day. I booked mine a month in advance so that I could make sure my case was "ready" and that i had enough time for my medical to get to the embassy. Good luck with the rest of your case :)
Awesome! So would you mind telling me how you booked your interview appointment? Was it through the https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv/ website? My Fiance went ahead and did his medical appointment last week just in case there was an issue. So of course we are working ahead of the embassy and NVC and trying to get everything finished, so I just want to make sure that's the right site. Thank you for your information! It is giving us some peace of mind. It's almost time for wedding bells!
Yes that is the correct website. Wow that's super you are well ahead of the game:) yes once your case leaves the NVC you can start looking into booking the interview, that's how I did mine. I wish you all the best for you and your fiance's visa interview. Hopefully wedding bells indeed very soon!!
All the best to you two, as well! Thanks again!
Hi There!
We're on a similar timeline so I thought I would ask about the interview. Our case has left the NVC but we have not received confirmation from the embassy that the embassy/consulate in London has received our application/package. Do we fill out the DS-160 now and schedule the interview or do we need to wait tio hear from them?
Thanks
Hello :) have you checked on the CEAC website to see if your case has changed to "ready" status. Once you have your case number you should be able to check on your visa applications status. I believe you can fill out the ds-160 whenever you choose after receiving your NVC case number. I booked my interview once my case changed to "ready" on the CEAC website and I hope to hear from the embassy soon. I hope this helps you and your fiance. Congratulations and good luck with the next steps!!!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
