Consulate Review: London, United Kingdom
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 26, 2017
Embassy Review : The Visa Interview was a not the scary experience I had been expecting. The consulate staff were all welcoming and friendly, whilst being very professional. On arrival, you are given a number and you then take a seat in the waiting area, until your number is called to go to a member of staff at one of the desks/windows. The interview has two parts, the first being a document check, which takes around 5 to 10 minutes. You then seat back down in the waiting area until your number is called again for your interview. At the interview window, the member of staff has all of your paperwork from your initial application through to the current. The interview did not take long and was mainly confirming who my fiance was, where she lived and our wedding plans. It felt more like a chat with a friend than an interview. Following the brief chat, the lady I saw, smiled and said "I am happy to tell you that your Visa has been approved." I was then advised that it would take up to 17 days for my passport, with the visa to be returned to me. This actually took under 2 weeks.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
